Biography
Jelka van Houten is a Dutch actress and singer, born Jelline Floriska van Houten on 1 September 1978 in Culemborg. She is the younger sister of actress Carice van Houten. She studied production design at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam.
Van Houten made her film debut in Liefje (2001). She is known for her role as Sabine in the British series Fresh Meat (2011–2016) and as Daan in Jackie (2012). She has appeared in Dutch films including Oink (2022), in which she provided a voice performance, and Hart Beat (2016).
On stage, she won John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards for her performances in the musicals Turks Fruit (2006) and Dromen... zijn bedrog (2010). She was nominated for a Gouden Notekraker for her début.
