Biography
Jennifer Kirby is an English actress. She trained at the University of East Anglia, where she read English Literature and Drama, graduating in 2010, and at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She began her career in stage roles, including with the Royal Shakespeare Company in productions of Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 (2014) and Henry V (2015), and received a commendation at the Ian Charleson Awards.
Kirby is best known for portraying Nurse Valerie Dyer in the BBC series Call the Midwife, appearing from series six in 2017 until the end of series nine in 2020. Her other television credits include Holby City (2015), Endeavour (2021), Vampire Academy (2022) as Alberta Casey, and The Gold (2023) as Sarah.
