Biography

Jeremy Kemp (1935–2019) was an English actor. Born Edmund Jeremy James Walker in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, he studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began his career on stage and in television.

He was an original cast member of the police series Z-Cars (1962–1963) as PC Bob Steele. His film roles include The Blue Max (1966), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Top Secret! (1984) as General Streck, and Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994). Television credits include Colditz, Space: 1999, Star Trek: The Next Generation (1990) as Robert Picard, The Winds of War and War and Remembrance, and Murder, She Wrote.

He also appeared as Cornwall in the 1983 television film of King Lear opposite Laurence Olivier.
