Biography

Jerold Wells (8 August 1908 – 19 July 1999) was an English actor. He was born in Wallington, Hampshire, and died in Bath, Somerset.

He appeared primarily in British comedies and supporting roles in film and television. His best-known film roles include Wat Dabney in Jabberwocky (1977), Benson in Time Bandits (1981), and Kramer in The Element of Crime (1984). Other credits include the waiter in the "Midnight Mess" segment of The Vault of Horror (1973), the landlord in Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974), and the Boleyn Axeman (uncredited) in Anne of the Thousand Days (1969).

On television he appeared in The New Avengers (1976), The Two Ronnies, The Benny Hill Show, and other series.
