Biography
Jerry Juhl (also credited as Jerome Ravn Juhl) was an American television and film writer best known for his long association with Jim Henson and the Muppets. He began working with Henson in the early 1960s on Sam and Friends, initially as a puppeteer, before concentrating on writing. He contributed to Sesame Street, served as head writer on The Muppet Show from its second season onward, and wrote for Fraggle Rock and The Jim Henson Hour.
Juhl wrote or co-wrote the screenplays for several Muppet feature films, including The Muppet Movie (1979), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), Muppet Treasure Island (1996) and Muppets from Space (1999). He received multiple Emmy Awards for his television writing.
