Biography
Jesper W. Nielsen is a Danish film and television director. He graduated as a film editor from the National Film School of Denmark in 1989 and edited early features before moving into directing.
He first gained attention for children's films such as The Last Viking (1997) and Forbudt for børn (1998). His breakthrough came with the adult drama Okay (2002), which won the Dreyer Award. Nielsen directed episodes of the series Borgen (2011–2013) and Dicte (2014), as well as features including The Day Will Come (2016) and The Exception (2019). He has also worked on international productions such as the BBC series Redwater (2017) and Darkness: Those Who Kill (2019).
