Biography
Jess Brittain is a British television writer and creator. She is the daughter of Scottish television writer and Skins co-creator Bryan Elsley. After her teenage years in Bristol, she studied English literature at the University of Edinburgh. Her first professional writing credits were for the Channel 4 series Skins, for which she had contributed informally as a teenager; she joined the writers' room in 2012 and wrote four episodes across the sixth and seventh series.
Brittain created, wrote and produced the BBC Three thriller series Clique (2017–2018), writing all twelve episodes across two seasons. She has also written episodes of Eden (2021) and The Essex Serpent (2022), and the Skins tie-in novel Skins: Summer Holiday (2011).
