Biography
Jiang Wen (Chinese: 姜文) is a Chinese actor, director and screenwriter. Born on 5 January 1963 in Tangshan, Hebei, China, he began his career in the 1980s and gained recognition for his leading role in Zhang Yimou's Red Sorghum (1988). He has also appeared in Warriors of Heaven and Earth (2003) and The Lost Bladesman (2011).
As a director, Jiang is noted for In the Heat of the Sun (1994), Devils on the Doorstep (2000) and Let the Bullets Fly (2010). He played Baze Malbus in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He is the older brother of actor Jiang Wu.
