Biography
Jihmi Kennedy is an American actor born on 4 November 1956 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He began his career in the mid-1980s with guest roles on television series such as The Equalizer and film appearances including Gung Ho (1986) as Junior and Fear City (1984) as Hawker (credited as William Kennedy).
Kennedy is best known for his role as Pvt. Jupiter Sharts in the 1989 film Glory. That year he also appeared in The Dream Team as the Tow Man and in Tour of Duty as Shakey Williams. He received a 1990 Drama Logue Award for his performance in Dutchman at the Mark Taper Forum. After a period teaching high school in North Carolina, he returned to acting with later roles in Crossing Jordan (2002) and Soul Food (2004).
