Biography
Jim Drake was an American film and television director. He began his career in 1974 as an associate director on the Norman Lear sitcoms All in the Family and Good Times. His solo directorial debut came with episodes of the series Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
Drake directed episodes of numerous television series, including The Facts of Life, Newhart, Night Court, Who's the Boss?, The Golden Girls (1985), Dave's World, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005) and its spin-off The Suite Life on Deck (2008). His feature film credits include Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987) and Speed Zone (1989). He was an alumnus of Columbia University and Stanford University. Drake received Primetime Emmy nominations for his work on Buffalo Bill and The Golden Girls, and Directors Guild of America nominations for SCTV Network and Buffalo Bill.
He died on 10 January 2022 in Freeland, Washington.
