Biography
Jim Siedow (1920–2003) was an American actor. He began acting in high school drama classes and later performed in theatre productions in New York City. After serving in the US Army Air Forces during the Second World War, he worked in radio in Chicago and then moved to Houston, Texas, where he established one of the city's early community theatres and directed stage productions including the first local staging of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.
Siedow made his film debut in the 1971 drama The Windsplitter. He is best known for portraying Drayton Sawyer, also credited as the Old Man or the Cook, in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) and its sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986). His other screen credits include the television film Red Alert (1977), Hotwire (1980) and an episode of Amazing Stories (1985). He died in Houston from complications of emphysema.
