Biography
Jo Joyner is an English actress. She graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff with a BA in Acting in 1999.
She is known for her long-running role as Tanya Branning (later Cross) in the BBC soap opera EastEnders (2006–2013, with returns in 2015 and 2017). Other notable credits include Fanny Thornton in the 2004 miniseries North & South, Beth Nicholls in No Angels (2004–2006), Luella Shakespeare in Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators (from 2018), Mandy Carter in Ackley Bridge (2017–), and Lynda Moss in Doctor Who (2005). She has also appeared in Spooks (2002), Silent Witness (1996) and Stay Close (2021).
Joyner has received awards including the Rose d'Or for Best Female Comedy Performance for Swinging (2006) and Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards (2008).
