Biography
Jo Neary, also credited as Joanna Neary, is a British comedian, writer and actress. She is best known for her recurring role as Judith in the BBC Three comedy series Ideal (2005–2011), appearing in 37 episodes across series two to seven.
Neary has performed solo character-based stage shows including Youth Club and Joanna Neary Is Not Feeling Herself, the latter earning a nomination for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has appeared in other television series such as That Mitchell and Webb Look (2008), Skins (2007) and My Mad Fat Diary (2013), and in films including Suffragette (2015) as a woman prisoner and Darkest Hour (2017) as Margaret Jerome. She has also written for television and contributed to radio comedy.
Born in 1972 in Coventry, Neary grew up in Redruth, Cornwall, and studied at the University of Brighton.
