Biography
Joan Juliet Buck is an American writer, editor and actress. Born in Los Angeles in 1948, she is the daughter of film producer Jules Buck. She began her career in journalism and became editor-in-chief of French Vogue from 1994 to 2001, the only American to hold that position.
Buck has written for Vogue, Vanity Fair and other publications. She began studying acting in 2002 and made her screen return in Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia (2009) as Madame Brassart. Earlier credits include a child role as Ailie in Greyfriars Bobby (1961); later work includes The Aspern Papers (2010) and an episode of Supergirl (2015).
