Biography

Joanna Naugle is an American film and television editor. She grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She began working with Josh Senior in 2012 and is a partner in the Brooklyn post-production company Senior Post.

Naugle has edited multiple seasons of the FX series The Bear (2022–), for which she has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Single-Camera Comedy Series (for the episodes “System” and “Fishes”) and two American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards. She has also received two British Film Editors Cut Above awards and further Emmy nominations for her work on the series.

Her other editing credits include the series Ramy (2019–2022), Big Mouth and its spin-off Human Resources, stand-up specials for comedians including John Mulaney and Ramy Youssef, and independent films such as Molli and Max in the Future (2023), Kate Can’t Swim (2017) and Before You Know It (2019).
