Biography
Joaquín Garrido is a Mexican actor born on 17 May 1952 in Mexico City. He began acting professionally at the age of 17, studied for a degree in acting in Mexico, and received scholarships to train at the Berliner Ensemble in Germany and the British Theatre Institute in London.
He is known for film roles including Sergeant Treviño in Like Water for Chocolate (1992) and Luis in The Kids Are All Right (2010). Garrido has appeared in Mexican telenovelas and American television series such as Monk (2002) and My Name Is Earl (2005). He received an Ariel Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Like Water for Chocolate.
