Biography
Jocelyn Bioh is a Ghanaian-American writer, playwright and actor. She graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in English and Theatre and holds an MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University.
Bioh has written for television on Russian Doll (2019), She’s Gotta Have It, Tiny Beautiful Things (2023) and The Acolyte (2024). Her plays include School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play (2017), Nollywood Dreams and Jaja’s African Hair Braiding (2023). She also adapted Merry Wives for the Public Theater.
As an actor, Bioh appeared on Broadway in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. She has received awards including the Lortel Award, Hull-Warriner Award and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Adaptation.
