Biography
Joe Armstrong is an English actor. Born in London on 7 October 1978, he is the son of actor Alun Armstrong. He studied at the University of Bristol and began his screen career in the late 1990s.
Armstrong is known for his television roles, including Allan A Dale in the BBC series Robin Hood (2006–2010), Ashley Cowgill in Happy Valley (2014) and Bairstow in The Village (2013). His stage work includes leading roles in productions such as The Empire and revivals of Flare Path and Constellations.
In film, he appeared as Joe in Ken Loach’s The Old Oak (2023).
