Biography
Joseph Fretwell III, also credited as Joe Fretwell, was an American costume designer. He was born on 19 September 1915 in Anderson, South Carolina, and died there on 5 November 1992.
Fretwell worked extensively in television in New York during the 1960s and early 1970s. His credits include the series N.Y.P.D. (1967–1969), Hawk (1966), Coronet Blue (1967) and NET Playhouse (1970).
His feature film work includes costume design on The French Connection (1971), Across 110th Street (1972) and The Exorcist (1973).
