Biography
Joe Morgenstern is an American writer and film critic. He wrote episodes of the television series Law & Order (1991–1992), contributing story, teleplay and written-by credits, and also wrote for Law & Order: UK (2009). His other television work includes the story for the 1976 television film The Boy in the Plastic Bubble and executive producing an episode of American Playhouse (1984).
Morgenstern graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. in 1953. He worked as a film critic for Newsweek (1965–1983) and The Wall Street Journal (1995–2022), winning the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2005. He was previously married to actress Piper Laurie.
