Biography
Joe Passarelli is a cinematographer. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago, where he studied on the set of The Weatherman under cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, and furthered his studies in cinematography at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
Passarelli served as director of photography on the stop-motion feature Anomalisa (2015), co-directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, with whom he had previously collaborated on a thesis film and the series Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole. His other credits include the series Ultra City Smiths and an Emmy Award-winning episode of Cosmos: Possible Worlds, as well as the feature The Actor.
