Biography
Joe Pennella is an American cinematographer and television director. He began his career as a documentary filmmaker in Denver, Colorado, after graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in mass communications.
Pennella worked as a second-unit director of photography on films including Bad Boys (1983) before concentrating on cinematography for television series such as Life Goes On (1989–1993) and Monk (2002). He made his directorial debut in 1997 with an episode of Clueless and has since directed episodes of Party of Five (1994), Everwood (2002), Monk (2002) and The Neighbors (2012).
