Biography
Joe Piarulli is an American television producer, writer and director. A 2009 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he began his career in the industry working as an assistant before advancing to staff writer and producer roles.
He is best known for his work on the Netflix series Cobra Kai (2018–2025), where he served as co-producer, producer, supervising producer, co-executive producer and executive producer across multiple seasons, wrote or co-wrote episodes including the Season 2 finale, and directed one episode. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for the series. Other credits include writing for Galavant (2015–2016) and The Tick (2017–2018), and producing and writing on F Is for Family (2020) and Obliterated (2023).
In 2021, Piarulli and writing partner Luan Thomas signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.
