Biography

Joe Raposo (also credited as Joseph Guilherme Raposo) was an American composer, lyricist and songwriter. He was born on 8 February 1937 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and died on 5 February 1989.

He composed the theme song and numerous songs for the children's television series Sesame Street, as well as music for The Electric Company, Shining Time Station and the sitcoms Three's Company and The Ropers. His film work includes the score for Nashville (1975) and songs and music for The Great Muppet Caper (1981) and Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure (1977). He also composed for three Dr. Seuss television specials: Halloween Is Grinch Night (1977), Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You? (1980) and The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat (1982).
