Biography
Joel Cohen is an American screenwriter. Born on 23 August 1963, he studied at the State University of New York and has frequently collaborated with writing partner Alec Sokolow since the 1980s.
Cohen received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for his work on Toy Story (1995), shared with Joss Whedon, Andrew Stanton and Sokolow. His other screenwriting credits include Money Talks (1997), Goodbye Lover (1998), Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), Garfield (2004), Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006) and Evan Almighty (2007). With Sokolow he also directed Monster Mash: The Movie (1995).
