Biography
Joel Novoa is a film and television director. Born in New York, he grew up in Caracas, Venezuela. He holds a law degree and an MFA in directing from the American Film Institute.
Novoa directed the feature God's Slave (2013), which was filmed across four South American countries, received a theatrical release and Netflix distribution, and won 18 international awards. He has directed episodes of series including Cobra Kai (2018–), Arrow (2012–), Walker (2021–), Blood & Treasure (2019–) and Tracker (2024–).
He received the Franklin J. Schaffner Fellow Award in 2012 and the Caucus Foundation Award in 2012.
