Biography
Johanna Wokalek is a German stage and film actress. She was born on 3 March 1975 in Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, and trained at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna.
She began her career with stage work at the Burgtheater in Vienna and received early recognition for her performance in the play Rose Bernd. Her film roles include Ilse in Aimée & Jaguar (1999), Lene in Hierankl (2003), Leila in Barefoot (2005), Luise Fellner in North Face (2008), Gudrun Ensslin in The Baader Meinhof Complex (2008), and the title role in Pope Joan (2009).
Wokalek has received several awards, including the Bambi award for her performance in The Baader Meinhof Complex.
