Biography
John Ajvide Lindqvist is a Swedish writer of horror novels and short stories. Born in 1968 in Blackeberg, a suburb of Stockholm, he worked as a stand-up comedian for twelve years and as a magician before turning to writing.
His debut novel, Let the Right One In (Låt den rätte komma in), was published in 2004 and adapted into a film of the same name in 2008, for which he wrote the screenplay. The story is set in Blackeberg in the early 1980s. He has also written Handling the Undead (2005) and the short story that formed the basis for the film Border (2018).
Lindqvist received a Guldbagge award for his screenplay for Let the Right One In. His works have been translated into numerous languages.
