Biography
John Ashley (born John Roger Atchley) was an American actor, producer and singer. He appeared in numerous films for American International Pictures in the late 1950s and 1960s, including Dragstrip Girl (1957), How to Make a Monster (1958) and several of the studio's Beach Party series such as Beach Party (1963) as Ken and Bikini Beach (1964) as Johnny.
In 1961–1962 he co-starred with Brian Kelly in the ABC series Straightaway as Clipper Hamilton. He played Hermy in the 1963 film Hud and guest-starred in series including The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction. Later in his career Ashley worked as a producer on films shot in the Philippines and on television series such as The A-Team.
Ashley was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on 25 December 1934 and died in New York City on 3 October 1997.
