Biography
John Beasley (26 June 1943 – 30 May 2023) was an American actor. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad before beginning his acting career in his mid-forties. He appeared in guest roles on television from the early 1990s and established the John Beasley Theater & Workshop in Omaha to promote live theatre.
Beasley is known for his role as Irv Harper in the series Everwood (2002–2006) and for film parts including the school-bus driver in Rudy (1993), Reverend Charles Blackwell in The Apostle (1997), General Lasseter in The Sum of All Fears (2002), Chris Vaughn Sr. in Walking Tall (2004), Papa Rico in The Purge: Anarchy (2014) and Father Rodriguez in Sinister 2 (2015). He played the Bartender in the first episode of The Mandalorian (2019) and appeared in series such as The Soul Man (2012–2016) and Your Honor (2020).
He continued working until 2022 and received two nominations for his television performances.
