Biography
John Brown was a Scottish screenwriter. Born in Burntisland, Fife, he studied English Literature at the University of St Andrews and trained as a teacher at Moray House College of Education. He worked in film and media education at the Scottish Film Council before turning to full-time screenwriting in 1989.
Brown wrote episodes for several British television series, including Bergerac (1991), Inspector Morse (1992), The Justice Game (1989–1990) and Taggart. His feature screenplay The Flying Scotsman (2006) was completed shortly before his death. He also wrote for European television productions.
