Biography
John Buckler, also credited as John Henry Clanfergael Buckler, was a British stage and film actor. He was born on 1 April 1906 in Cape Town, South Africa, the son of actor Hugh Buckler and actress Violet Paget. As a child he spent time in England before joining his parents in Australia in 1914.
Buckler made his Broadway debut in 1925 in The Green Hat. He appeared in further Broadway productions including The Letter and The Barretts of Wimpole Street. His film career began in 1934; his roles included Ham Peggotty in David Copperfield (1935), Beran in The Black Room (1935) and Captain Fry in Tarzan Escapes (1936).
Buckler died on 30 October 1936, aged 30, in a car accident in Malibu, California, alongside his father.
