Biography
John Cassaday was an American comic book artist, writer and television director. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he studied filmmaking and began his career in comics with acclaimed series including Planetary with Warren Ellis.
He collaborated with Joss Whedon on the 2004 relaunch of Astonishing X-Men as penciller. Cassaday made his directorial debut with the episode 'The Attic' of the series Dollhouse in 2009. He also worked as a concept artist on the 2009 film Watchmen.
Cassaday died in Manhattan, New York City, on 9 September 2024.
