Biography
John Davies (1934–2018) was a British television director. Born in Birmingham, he directed episodes of series including United!, Z-Cars and The Bill, as well as all twenty episodes of the 1972 BBC adaptation of War and Peace.
Davies directed the Doctor Who story The Macra Terror (1967). His other credits include Just William (1977–1978), several adaptations of Ruth Rendell novels such as Miss Marple: Sleeping Murder (1987), and episodes of The Ruth Rendell Mysteries.
