Biography
John Elliott was an American actor. Born John Hugh Elliott in Keosauqua, Iowa, he began his career on the stage and appeared on Broadway in the 1917 production of Eyes of Youth.
With the arrival of sound films his career expanded considerably. He worked in over 300 films between the silent era and his death, frequently in uncredited parts and with a particular focus on B-westerns. His credits include Sons of the Desert (1933) as the Exalted Ruler, Baby Face (1933), Jesse James (1939), The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), The Spoilers (1942), The Lady from Shanghai (1947) and The Woman on the Beach (1947).
