Biography
John Herrera is a television writer and producer. He has worked extensively on the Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2025), with credits including writer, teleplay, executive story editor, producer and supervising producer.
Herrera frequently collaborates with writing partner Nina Fiore. Their joint credits include episodes of Blood Drive (2017), The Purge (2018–2019), Nightflyers (2018), Alphas (2011–2012) and Eureka (2006–2012). Earlier in his career he served as a script coordinator on Eureka, Californication (2007) and Sleeper Cell. He co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019).
He received Primetime Emmy nominations in 2020 and 2021 for Outstanding Drama Series as a producer on The Handmaid's Tale, and won Writers Guild of America awards in 2018 for Dramatic Series and New Series for the same show.
