Biography
John J. Strauss is an American screenwriter and producer of film and television. He wrote and produced for the television series Boy Meets World, Me and the Boys and Odd Man Out. He is credited with naming the character Topanga Lawrence after Topanga Canyon.
Since 1998, Strauss has focused primarily on films. He co-wrote the screenplay and story for There's Something About Mary (1998) with Ed Decter, with whom he has frequently collaborated. His other screenwriting credits include Head Over Heels (2001), The Santa Clause 2 (2002), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), Rebound (2005), The Wild (2006), The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006), You Again (2010) and Free Birds (2013). He holds a B.F.A. from UCLA and an M.F.A. from the University of Georgia.
