Biography
John Jarratt is an Australian actor, producer and director. He graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1973 and made his screen debut in The Great Macarthy (1975).
He appeared in Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) and Summer City (1977). Jarratt played the lead role of Ned Kelly in the miniseries The Last Outlaw (1980) and a supporting role in The Odd Angry Shot (1980). He is best known for portraying Mick Taylor in Wolf Creek (2005), Wolf Creek 2 (2013) and the Wolf Creek television series (2016–2017), as well as roles in Rogue (2007), Australia (2008) as Sergeant, 100 Bloody Acres (2012) and Django Unchained (2012).
Jarratt has also appeared in guest roles on series including Inspector Morse (1987) and McLeod’s Daughters (2001–2006), and presented on Better Homes and Gardens.
