Biography
John Jensen was an American costume designer whose career spanned from 1956 to 1972. He contributed to the costume design for The Ten Commandments (1956), working on pre-production sketches and designs alongside Arnold Friberg and others for the Cecil B. DeMille production.
Jensen received two Academy Award nominations for Best Costumes. The first, in the colour category at the 29th Academy Awards, was shared with Arnold Friberg, Edith Head, Dorothy Jeakins and Ralph Jester for The Ten Commandments. The second, at the 31st Academy Awards, was shared with Edith Head and Ralph Jester for The Buccaneer (1958). His other credits include work on The Bellboy (1960), Where It's At (1969) and The Cowboys (1972), often as a sketch artist or illustrator.
