Biography
John Kilby was a British television producer and director. He began his career in the 1970s as a production assistant on series including Open All Hours (1976) and later worked extensively in BBC comedy.
Kilby produced episodes of Hi-de-Hi! (1980) and directed many more, collaborating with writers David Croft and Jimmy Perry. He also produced and directed on Alas Smith & Jones (1984), KYTV (1989) and other series such as Comrade Dad and You Must Be the Husband. He won a BAFTA Award for best comedy series.
