Biography
John Lee Hancock is an American screenwriter, director and producer. Born in Longview, Texas, he studied English and law at Baylor University before practising as an attorney and later moving into film.
He wrote the screenplays for A Perfect World (1993) and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997). His directorial debut came with The Rookie (2002), followed by The Alamo (2004). He wrote and directed The Blind Side (2009), and has since directed Saving Mr. Banks (2013), The Founder (2016), The Highwaymen (2019), The Little Things (2021) and Mr. Harrigan's Phone (2022).
