Biography
John Light is an English actor working in film, television and theatre. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and made his screen debut in the late 1990s.
His early film role was as Young Reggie in A Rather English Marriage (1998). On television he has appeared in North & South (2004) as Henry Lennox, Band of Brothers (2001) as Lt. Col. O. Dobie, and in recurring roles in Father Brown (2013–) as Hercule Flambeau and Around the World in 80 Days (2021) as Ambrose Abernathy. Theatre credits include a Laurence Olivier Award-nominated performance in Taken at Midnight (2014) and the role of Lord Asriel in the National Theatre production of The Book of Dust — La Belle Sauvage, filmed for National Theatre Live (2022).
