Biography
John M. Nickolaus was an American cinematographer. He was born on 23 September 1881 and died on 29 October 1963 in Los Angeles County, California.
Nickolaus worked on early short films including the Mutt and Jeff series in 1911. He contributed cinematography to The Hollywood Revue of 1929 and special effects to The Prisoner of Zenda (1937). He was also credited as John J. Nickolaus and was the father of cinematographer John M. Nickolaus Jr.
