Biography
John Morton is a British writer and director for television and radio. He gave up a career as an English teacher to become a writer in 1990. His first success was the mockumentary series People Like Us, which began on BBC Radio 4 in 1995 before transferring to BBC Two in 1999.
Morton created, wrote and directed the BBC comedy Twenty Twelve (2011–2012), which followed preparations for the London Olympics. He later wrote and directed its spin-off W1A (2014–2017), set in the BBC, and the UK adaptation Ten Percent (2022). He is married to actress Helen Atkinson-Wood.
