Biography
John Muto is a production designer whose credits include Home Alone (1990), Species (1995), Night of the Comet (1984), River's Edge (1986) and Heart and Souls (1993). He has also worked in visual effects and art department roles on earlier projects.
Muto studied writing at Berkeley and has no formal design training. He entered the industry through a theatre and dance company, where he became involved in lighting and film work. He has taught production design at the AFI.
