Biography
John Patrick Lowrie is an American actor and voice actor. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he trained at the Indiana University School of Music and worked as a musician before turning to acting.
He is best known for his voice performances in video games, including the Sniper in Team Fortress 2 and male citizens in Half-Life 2. He has voiced characters in Dota 2 and other Valve titles. Since 2001, he has played Sherlock Holmes in the radio series The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
Lowrie has appeared in small live-action film roles, including as Mr. Sears in the 2025 period drama Train Dreams. He has been married to voice actor Ellen McLain since 1986.
