Biography
John Philliber, also credited as John Mortimer Philliber, was an American actor. Born in Elkhart, Indiana, he worked primarily as a stage actor and appeared in several Broadway productions, including Winterset.
In the last year of his life he made a number of film appearances, most notably as Joe Pete in Double Indemnity (1944) and as Pop Benson in It Happened Tomorrow (1944). He died in Elkhart in November 1944.
