Biography
John E. Roach is an American screenwriter, television producer and director. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, he is president of JRP, a video and film production company he founded in 1985. Prior to that he worked as a producer at CBS and ABC stations in Chicago.
Roach co-wrote the screenplay for The Straight Story (1999) with his childhood friend Mary Sweeney. The film, directed by David Lynch, premiered at Cannes and was released by Walt Disney Pictures. The screenplay received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.
