Biography
John Rubinstein is an American actor, composer and director. Born on 8 December 1946 in Los Angeles, he is the son of pianist Arthur Rubinstein.
He made his Broadway debut in 1972 in the musical Pippin, for which he received a Theatre World Award. In 1980 he won the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and other honours for his performance in Children of a Lesser God.
Rubinstein's film credits include 21 Grams (2003), in which he played a gynaecologist, and Red Dragon (2002). He has appeared in numerous television series, among them Grey's Anatomy, Friends, Supernatural, House and Criminal Minds.
