Biography

John Shea is an American actor who has worked in film, television and theatre. He trained at Bates College and Yale University, where he earned an MFA in directing from the School of Drama. His early screen role was as Charles Horman in the 1982 film Missing.

Shea is known for his television performances, including Lex Luthor in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993–1997) and Adam Kane in Mutant X (2001–2004). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for his role in the 1988 miniseries Baby M. He has also appeared in series such as The Blacklist, Bones and Gossip Girl.
